I have seen alot of questions on how people are becomming gm on there server through port 6000 blah blah blah this is an easy guide on how to block.

What is port 6000:

It is a simple bug within the DBServer.exe which allows players to exploit it and get level 255 and any items on your server etc etc.

How To Block:

Download Zone Alarm Pro

Run DBServer.exe located: C:\mirserver\mud2\DBSrv200

If you have installed zone alarm pro properly you will get this when you have opened it

error1.JPG

Click deny this will block port 6000 once you have done this it will then say

error2.JPG

Click Allow.

You have now blocked port 6000 you have also protected your PC from alot of hackings and standard DoS attacks.

Any questions info pm me

you can also hex the dbserver to use another port...
Search for 70 17
my dbserver.exe is on address 0xC5AA8
Replace whatever port you want to use... give a number between 10001-32000

example 30 75 for port 30000
now goto your !setup.txt and make sure the DBPort is changed to 30000

that's all.
