If your using a set of 600w DJ speakers as you put it, then you will need an AMP and at least a 2 channel mixer in order for the sound to go out from the speakers.

Your cheaper option, is to buy a DDSS for about £60. Which will sound better and be in full 5.1 surround sound.

you dont need a high wattage for them to go loud.

i have harman kardon soundsticks II speakers, only 20w RMS, and you can hear em down the street when turned up, awesome quality, and anything louder wld deffen u.

Woo a thread i can help out on,

Being a dj and a sound tech for our 18000 watt pa system i should be able to help.

Well for starters your going to need a half decent amp( Could go for a half decent house amp with 8 ohm outputs)(Or you could buy a 19" P.A amp) once you have the amp and speakers connected Your going to need a RCA(goes in your amp) to mini jack(goes into your pc) cable.

If you need further help pm me :P

Ouch and watch the system go POP.

Pluging an amp direct into the jack port on a pc without anything their to formally regulate the sound level out put, apart from the amp itself. Will cause the internal sound card to go pop and using the amp controls is not the best way to go about it either.

Why you think they removed amp sound boards from mobo's years ago.

Oh and for two 600w speakers, he needs at least a 4 ohm's with an output of at least 1200 watt - ISA 800T is a good amp for this.

the one darkxxx has are amazing, best pc speakers you can buy without having to fork out too much.

i paid £160 for my soundsticks 5 years ago, and i still find it hard to find any speakers with better sound for the same price.

I found the best way is to buy a DDSS AV reciever, some decent floor standing speakers, some nice surrounds, centre speaker and of course either an active or passive sub :P works nicely for me and can get complaints from 2-3 streets away with my set up of 2x 250watt/8ohm floorstanding speakers, 100watt/60hm centre speaker, 4x50watt/4ohm surrounds and 400watt/8ohm sub lol

they good?
It's that loud I had police round the other weekend asking me to turn it down, as they had received a complaint. Also with all DDSS systems, they come with a jack lead so that you plug into the outputs on the back and then into the jack port on your PC.

Your better of looking aroundto get a good idea of what you want, go to places like Comet or Currys.

Admitidily without a preamp it will cause stress on your pc`s sound card but i ran this setup for years untill i got a Maya44 USB and dj mixer as pre amp.

Anyway thought id post a few pics of some of our partys we done which was and always will be 110% louder than anything your pc produces :P

Well was pretty easy really, just connected each of the different speakers into the appropriate speaker outputs on the back, ran an rca-mini jack cable between my pc and the amp to connect it. All in all it has cost me about £250 for my setup, but thats only so cheap because I already had 4 of the surrounds from an old 5.1 hifi. The sub is an old bass canon from my one of my old car's that i've just connected through a crossover :P most expensive bit admittedly was my Scott 250watt floorstanding speakers, £180 they cost me 4 years ago and man there loud :P
