Finally got promoted to senior analyst after 18 months. The biggest hurdle was the politics of the company to approve the position.

in a service desk, where do I go from here? The natural path in this role is team leader and I'm not opposed to that but that's going in to management instead technical.

The worst part of this job is that I've still had no exposure to networking so I'd still struggle to get a 1st line role in an msp.

I do however have an inside guy within platform and automation devops. I know very little about this and what they do. Is anybody able to give a short description and know what skills I would need?
