For a router you need to forward ports 7000,7100,7200, and 3000 if you wanna use a server siggy with usercount or something similar.
Once you know your global IP(goto whatismyip.com) and internal IP (usually 192.168.*.***) it's easy to set up server.

NOTE leave all IP's at 0.0.0.0 alone

1. DBServer/!Addrtable.txt = Internal IP
DBServer/!Severinfo.txt = Internal IP / Global IP
DBServer/Dbsrc.txt = All internal IP

2. LoginGate/config.txt = Internal IP

3. LoginSrv/!Addrtable.txt = server name, server name, Internal IP, Global IP, Global IP
!Serveraddr.txt = Internal IP
Logsrv.txt = All Internal IP

4. M2Server/!runaddr = Global IP
!servertable.txt = Global IP
!Setup.txt = Internal IP

5. RunGate/Config.txt = Internal IP

6. SelGate/Config.txt = Internal IP

Thanks Weikster

In the rungate config i usually change the ip 0.0.0.0 to internal ip. Not totally sure if this has to be done or not though.
yeh you're right, actually you can change all the 0.0.0.0 to internal ip and it still works, but its works leaving them too, so to be safe I put not to change because it might not work for everyone.

How do I find my Internal & External IP Address?

Internal(Router):
Start > Run > Type in "cmd prompt".
A Black Box Should Appear.
Type in the box "ipconfig"

It should show your internal (router) IP address.
Which as shown on the first post start with 192.168.***.***
(The rest of the numbers depend on which port your nets plugged into)

External(Global/Modem):
Your External IP Address can be found at: www.WhatIsMyIp.com

Thought I would add this on as a few people may not now how.

Find your router IP, type it in your search bar and hit connect.
If it requires a password to connect, then simply find the model + make of your router, type it in google e.g 'Belkin54g linksys router passwords'

But before you go off searching, always hit connect first just incase you dont need a password :)

I've tried this aswell, forwarded the ports and followed the guide with no luck.

You might need whats known as a loopback adaptor, your best bet is to try connecting from outside your house ie not on your router, and see if you can connect, it might just be that your comp wont connect using external ip but others will...

What does 2.6 have to do with this putting a server online, they are all the same..

The guide on page one says use your router ip ?
Since when would you need to do that lol everything elce is right tho but not the ip bit

Its always been 127.0.0.1 the only thing you change are the needed ones to your global ip

If you cant get online you need to foward your ports

Not if your trying to play on the same pc as a online server and cant thats because your router does not allow loopback so buy a new router
